The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Service is located in the Princesse Charlotte Building – 1st floor.

HEAD OF SERVICE: Dr Valérie BERNARD

Treatment of patients with functional limitations or a disability after orthopaedic surgery or injury, rheumatological diseases, neurological disorders, respiratory diseases, problems with balance or walking, bladder and sphincter disorders (incontinence), postpartum conditions, amputations, cardiovascular diseases, some childhood conditions, etc.

AREAS OF ACTIVITY:

• Versatile rehabilitation service treating both inpatients from the medical and surgical wards and outpatients.
• Specialist medical consultations, follow-up and coordination of rehabilitation programmes, posturographic (balance) and isokinetic (muscle strength) assessments, gait analysis (Walkmeter) and isokinetic (muscle strength) analysis, etc.
• Paramedical general and specialist rehabilitation with individual treatment. Group physical rehabilitation sessions are organised for some disorders.
• The medical and paramedical team offers comprehensive (from diagnosis to ongoing rehabilitation) and personalised (individual rehabilitation programme) treatment for a variety of disabilities, using a wide range of techniques: manual therapy, mechanical therapy, electrotherapy and physiotherapy, posture and perineal biofeedback, balneotherapy, airway clearance and ventilation, lymphatic drainage, exercise rehabilitation, use of small devices, optokinetic simulation, isokinetic exercise, spinal traction, etc.
