Consultations de Chirurgie Générale et Digestive (CHPG)

The General and Gastrointestinal Surgery Consultations Service is located in the Maternité Building – 3rd floor.

HEAD OF SERVICE: Professeur Fabrizio PANARO 

The General and Visceral Surgery Service is a multidisciplinary team led by Dr Maurice Chazal and operated by nine senior surgeons, two associate surgeons and one interne (house officer).
▪ All areas of visceral surgery are covered, apart from urological, cardiovascular and neurosurgery.
▪ Surgeries are carried out on a scheduled inpatient, outpatient or emergency basis.
▪ Gastrointestinal surgery is supervised by the Medical and Surgical Department for Diseases of the Digestive System.
▪ Cancer surgery, which is particularly important, is coordinated by the Cancer Coordination Centre (3C).
▪ Emergency surgery cases are handled 24 hours a day by the team’s on-duty surgeon. The underlying organisational chart provides full practical information to help you find your way around the team.
